Off-LoomWeaving — 2023

Exploring different ways to weave while having limited space in a small Parisian apartment. Object-based weaving has been a source of inspiration to play with color, pattern, and shape within my small creative atelier!

Woven Grief — 2022

This project is all about moving through the grieving process and using tactile practices as a way to understand complex emotions. By deconstructing two of my grandmothers old knit sweaters, I deconstructed my memories, feelings, and grief at the same time. I was able to create something new from the old. I was also able to gift this project, and spark joy during a sad time.

I also shared this video on my Instagram page, where many other people found this comforting and inspiring, which is humbling to me. As of January 2023, the reel has 23k views. You can watch it here.

Scrap Dress — 2021

This is an exploration about the waste that exists in the textile industry. I challenged myself to create a dress only from material that I already had leftover from previous projects. I could not buy anything new. This opened my eyes to the amount of waste that I produce that can continue to be repurposed into other things. I used leftover yarn and wove long panels of fabric, then hand-stitched them together. We can push the boundaries of creativity and come up with incredible things using the resources we already have.

A Blue Sky in Paris — 2021

While in confinement in Paris during COVID-10, I decided to buy a tabletop loom to start creating physical textiles again. This is my first weaving, inspired by different shades of blue I wish I saw more in Paris. I created my own blue sky to wear on grey days.

A Message to the World — 2018

"A Message To The World" project began on a Dobby loom with the simple phrase "Be Kind." It created an abstract pattern that was semi- readable. Text, writing, and the distortion of hidden phrases within a textile became very fascinating to me. To further this idea, I imagined how I could communicate this phrase in a more universal way- and that's when I began translating the words into different phrases and wove it on a Jacquard loom. I hope everyone can read and understand these pieces and maybe spark a little more kindness within the world.

My Grandmother’s Postcards — 2018

Vintage postcards have a sweet, nostalgic feeling about them. My favorite postcard I have received was from my grandmother who sent me a loving note while at the Grand Canyon. I became inspired by this old card and wanted to keep these memories alive. I aimed to recreate vintage postcards- but with a more modern design. This was translated onto Jacquard fabric and woven with a lot of love and a longing to see all of these places someday.

Be Kind — 2018

"Be Kind" is the project that began on a Dobby loom with the simple phrase "Be Kind," creating an abstract pattern that was semi- readable. Text, writing, and the distortion of hidden phrases within a textile became very fascinating to me. This project evolved into the “A Message to the World” project above.

Home Again — 2018

This wall piece and upholstery set brought it all back to where I am from. I have explored communicating through blind contours and linework to translate those I love into fabric and textiles for the home. These pieces are inspired by where I grew up, my home, and those who live there- those who have shaped me into who I am today and those who continue to help me along the way. I am forever grateful.

Designed on NedGraphics and woven on Jacquard loom.

Spearmint — 2018

This minty upholstery swatch set is inspired by one of my favorite colors to work with for home décor. I aimed to create patterns on a dobby loom that used this color in a fun and playful way.

A Yellow Rose — 2018

A monochromatic scarf inspired by colors and shapes found in a yellow rose. Woven on a 4-shaft floor loom.

Historic Alteration Collection: Pillows + Blanket — 2018

This project was a visual design manifestation of a in depth cultural, historical, and anthropological research into textile motifs, colors, and techniques from around the world. I translated my research and inspiration into digital prints and wovens, celebrating and admiring the complexity and diversity of historical textiles.

Spiderweb Blanket — 2017

A blanket with long floats and high contrast colors, pushing the boundaries of a functional blanket. Woven on a floor loom.
